WLC Annual report
Introduction
"I can do everything througt Him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13,NIV)
Even though it is a small hospital, we are facing many of the same kinds of obstacles that other social institutions are. There is never a carefree moment because of the lack of doctors and nurses, unexpected matters between the employees, claims about medical service and financial problems. However, we can overcome many of these troubles through the belief that the God is with us; I cannot help but admire our Shepherd who leads us on this path.
I am especially thankful for the completion of the new hospital expansion. They say that it is now the global trend to send patients home earlier after surgery. However, premature discharge has not been medically preferable and is rather unsatisfying for patients.
Until completion of the new ward we were forced to discharge the patients earlier than was advisable due to the chronic room shortage. It is a relief that this long-cherished wish has finally been fulfilled.
I am confident that our employees are the most devoted and loving. Even though they are always swamped by an incomparable workload, they never tire of passing along the Faith, and do their best in their own places to make the environment brighter and cleaner. They make me proud to be a Christian. I would like to thank our employees for getting by with a smile through all the hardships of the construction of the new building and renovation of the old one.
We have set many new records. We performed 3,495 total knee replacement surgeries last year; also, we have exceeded our monthly surgery record by operating on more than 500 patients during last December. I am grateful, yet sorry for, our operating team. Our humble efforts were rewarded by patients'
satisfaction; and I praise the God who allows us the health to do his work.
We have been to Myanmar twice and once to Yanji, China. We are praying to find a better way to support Myanmar with medical treatment.
This is the beginning of our new centenary. I believe that a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night will lead us so that our hospital remains godly and continues to grow in His will while we keep loving our Father.
